Posting the American colors are beautiful all year round, but there is something magical about seeing the red, white and blue with fireworks for Independence Day. Equestrian drill teams across the State of Texas post the colors to begin rodeo performances. Each of these teams have their unique way of entering a rodeo arena, but they have one thing in common. You will never forget one of their performances.
Formed in 1990, to add flash to the Sammy Catalena Rodeo Company the Catalena Cowgirls are known for their spectacular show performances. These beautiful women and phenomenal paint horses perform across the State of Texas. You’ve never seen anything like it. It’s difficult to describe their unique attraction, but once you’ve seen their performances, you’ll know you’ve witnessed something spectacular. With fireworks bursting and saddles blazing, these cowgirls will put on the show of a lifetime. The Catalena Cowgirls follow the direction of Pete Catalena.
The Palomino Patrol was founded in 1951 pecially for the performance of the San Antonio Rodeo Grand Entry. Riders wear rhinestone uniforms, and the beautiful golden palomino horses proudly sport sparkling, silver saddles. Fans love the colorful and exciting “Six Flags Over Texas” presentation. After 9/11, the Patrol began a new tradition of carrying American Flags in a “Salute to America.” The Palomino Patrol Drill Team was formed in 2003 to ride with the Palomino Patrol in the San Antonio Rodeo. The team wears specially-designed black and silver chaps and western shirts to compliment the colors of the Palomino Patrol while maintaining the image of the old west.
Texas Thunder Drill Team
Based in Bulverde, Texas, the Texas Thunder is a group of professional equestrians who are passionate about sharing the excitement of drill by entertaining crowds and spreading goodwill to others. These entertainers love to show off their teamwork and unity by posting colors at rodeos across Texas. They are committed to the Western culture and to their communities. The drill team is also available for private engagements, color guard and other events. You can contact them directly to watch them practice in Bulverde.
San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo Ambassadors
A group of ladies who enjoy riding their Paso Fino horses and sharing the love of the American spirit through rodeos. These ladies were formed to perform at the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo, but perform at other events as well. The Texas flag looks even better when these ladies post the colors.
