Former KYGO-FM DJ David Mueller was fired in June 2013 over allegations from Swift’s team that he had lifted the artist’s skirt and “grabbed her bottom” while taking a photo backstage before a performance at Denver’s Pepsi Center.
Back in September, Mueller filed a lawsuit against Swift, claiming he and his girlfriend were verbally harassed by her security team and banned from attending any Swift shows in the future. Mueller says the photo, which was taken with Swift and Mueller’s girlfriend, shows that “Ms. Swift’s skirt is in place and is not being lifted by Mr. Mueller’s hand in the photograph.” He also claimed his boss, Eddie Haskell, was the one who actually groped the star.
On Oct. 28, Swift filed a countersuit against Mueller, accusing him of lying about the incident.
“Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault — it was Mueller — and she is not confused in the slightest about whether her long-term business acquaintance, Mr. Haskell, was the culprit,” the suit reads, according to People Magazine. “Resolution of this Counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”
The suit goes on to ask for a jury trial, with the intention of donating any monetary earnings to “charitable organizations dedicated to protecting women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard.”
