'Voice' Winner Sundance Head is Joining Blake Shelton's 2017 Tour

Recent winner of The Voice and Team Blake member Sundance Head just landed a pretty good opening gig. The 37-year-old Porter, Texas native joins Blake Shelton on his Doing It To Country Songs tour.

The 13-date tour also features another alum from the reality show and Shelton protege, RaeLynn. So now the tour includes a Season two quarterfinalist and the Season 11 winner, both Texas natives.

It's cool to see Shelton put his money where his mouth is. As a coach on the show, he leverages pretty significant influence over the country music landscape. Shelton pretty consistently uses his reach to help certain contestants he believes in.

Sundance Head won Season 11 with his soulful country style, akin to Chris Stapleton. The son of singer Roy Head first entered the reality TV world in 2007 on Season 6 of American Idol. He made it to the Top 16 before getting axed.

Head then signed a record deal with Universal Music Group, but it didn't ultimately bring the success he'd hoped for. That changed with his appearance on Season 11 of The Voice.

The Doing It To Country Songs Tour only spans just over one month, but it hits up 13 different cities in that timespan. Head performs on 12 of those dates. Much of the tour covers the West Coast, with a few shows in the Midwest.
