Dolly Parton will host the Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund telethon this Tuesday (Dec. 13, 7 PM CT) to help raise money to aide relief efforts in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
The largest wildfires in the East Tennessee region in over 100 years, the fires left 13 dead and 85 injured. On top of the human devastation, the fires affected more than 1,000 structures in the area. The My People Fund will provide $1,000 a month for six months for all families that lost their homes during the wildfires. Anyone can donate to the My People Fund during the telethon, with 100% of donations going toward the wildfire relief efforts.
The telethon will feature performances from Dolly, Hank Williams Jr., Cyndi Lauper, Alabama, Don McLean, Chris Stapleton, Lauren Alaina, Jamey Johnson, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Chris Young, Big & Rich, LoCash, Chris Janson, Montgomery Gentry, Reba McEntire, Alison Krauss, and Kenny Rogers.
