Talk show host and comedian Steve Harvey had plenty to say when an audience member asked his opinion on country music.
A woman told Harvey that she was having a hard time dealing with her husband’s love of country songs during a recent episode of his daytime talk show.
“He loves his Garth Brooks, he loves George Strait, and Reba McEntire. He’s always trying to get me to listen to country music, but I can’t,” she explained. She goes on to explain all the reasons why she just can’t seem to fall in love with the genre.
Finally, she asked a question that made that audience go silent. “So, why do white people love country music?” Naturally, Harvey had plenty to say on the topic.
Without a moment of hesitation, Harvey revealed his love for all things country music. He even took a moment to show off his own spirited version of a two-step.
“If you was married to me, you’d have the same damn problem,” he exclaimed. “That ain’t a bad problem to have.”
Hopefully, Harvey’s response might inspire her to give country music another chance. If not, maybe her husband and Harvey can start a country bromance. Either way, he left her with some succinct and helpful final advice.
“Get your ass some George Strait, get on out there and learn how to two step.” Amen to that, Steve.
