Shania Twain reached out to fans through social media in order to help find a missing New York woman.
24-year old Rachael Mattice was last seen on June 22, when she left her family’s home in Johnstown, N.Y. and headed towards the family camp in a small town 53 miles away.
Mattice’s family reached out to Twain because she’s Mattice’s idol. Twain answered their call for help by tweeting this message out to her followers.
According to CBS6, Mattice had dinner at her parents’ house before leaving in her silver Jeep, headed towards the family’s camper in Wells, N.Y. on June 22. She did make it to Wells and was last seen in the town around 9:15 p.m.
Mattice sent her mom a text message upon arriving at the camp site, which read, “I’m at the bottom of the hill. Goodnight and I love you.” She then presumably went up the hill in the wooded area to reach the camper.
Her father drove to the camper later in the week and found her Jeep, but could not find his daughter. Search parties have formed to find Mattice and the community is binding together to assist the family.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office at 518-548-3113. A $2,000 reward is being offered for anybody with information that leads to finding Mattice.
