Country legends and longtime friends Loretta Lynn and Willie Nelson reflect on their pasts and hope for the future in their haunting new video for “Lay Me Down.”

The reflective duet is featured on Lynn’s new album Full Circle, which marked her first LP in nearly twelve years. At 83 years old, the star is unafraid to discuss the realities of life and death. Much like her track “Who’s Gonna Miss Me?”, her latest single unabashedly talks of death and what comes with it.

It’s hard to even think about the world of country music existing without Lynn in it, especially after releasing an album as poignant and well-crafted as Full Circle. It’s a reality that both Lynn and Nelson take on with dignity and appreciation for all the gifts and blessings they have received over the years.

At its core, the track serves as a reminder to appreciate what you’ve already accomplished throughout your life and the time you’ve been given, no matter how long or short it may be.
