See Keith Urban and Marty Stuart’s Haunting Rendition of ‘I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry’

Keith Urban helped celebrate a milestone moment for Marty Stuart by joining him for a stunning cover of a Hank Williams classic.

Their memorable performance of “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” was part of Stuart’s 50th birthday celebration at the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. Stuart’s band, the Fabulous Superlatives, Urban, the Carolina Chocolate Drops string band, and his wife Connie Smith joined together at the Opry House for the live televised event.

With just two acoustic guitars in hand, the duo blew away the audience with their stellar harmonies. The chart-toppers’ voices flow together with ease as they bring a modern feel to the track which topped the charts all the way back in 1949 that is still relevant and touching today.
