The whole world is plugged into the story of Joey and Rory Feek, sympathetically sharing in the beautiful couple’s romance that cherishes each and every minute of its continuance.
With Joey Feek continuing to battle cancer and fighting like a true warrior, country music fans are soaking in as much as they can of the inspiring pair that has won their hearts.
Prior to Joey’s 2014 cancer diagnosis, the duo spent many nights on the Grand Ole Opry stage, earning the title of “regulars” at the legendary venue. On one of the occasions that Joey + Rory shared their talents with the Nashville crowd, they elicited the help of daughter, Heidi, as they performed Townes Van Zandt’s classic “If I Needed You”.
With lyrics that ultimately foreshadowed the husband and wife’s journey, Joey begged the question, “If I needed you, would you come to me? Would you come to me and ease my pain?” As if to answer, Rory stepped forward to the microphone and joined in, promising, “If you needed me, I would come to you, I’d swim the seas for to ease your pain.”
