Craig Campbell put his own spin on one of Miranda Lambert’s biggest career hits for the latest installment of his “Woman Cover Wednesday” video series.
Appropriately filmed in the famous Women of Country dressing room in the backstage area of the Grand Ole Opry, Campbell opts to strip down Lambert’s 2010 number one single “The House That Built Me.” With just a keyboard, the Georgia native brings an even more reflective and wistful feeling to the beloved track.
In recent weeks, Campbell has covered a number of songs from country music’s leading ladies, from Carrie Underwood to Maren Morris. Still, this cover manages to stand out as one of his best so far.
Campbell’s current single, “Outskirts of Heaven,” has been gaining speed on the country charts and is being celebrated for its honest and heartfelt discussion on what many hope to see in the afterlife.
He’s also gearing up to release his still-unnamed third studio album, which will likely be released later this year. Until then, you can catch him playing an array of country music festivals and events through the summer. You can find more information about his current tour schedule at his official website.
