Record Number of Travelers Expected to Hit the Road this Thanksgiving

If you are planning to travel this Thanksgiving, you definitely won’t be alone. This year, experts forecast that this holiday will have more travelers than the previous nine years. In fact, AAA forecasts that 48.7 million Americans will be driving or flying this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving always tends to be one holiday where people travel often and in longer distances. But the amount of travelers predicted for this year hasn’t happened seen since the year before the Great Recession in 2007.

The particular study took into consideration job growth as well as household net worth and the stock market. Naturally, airline and gas prices also play a role in this increase in travel plans.

If you are planning to hit the road or take a flight this Thanksgiving, try and give yourself a bit more time than usual to get where you are going. Check-ins for flights will probably take a bit longer than usual, so make sure you plan accordingly.
