Reba McEntire has announced “Until They Don’t Love You” as the second single off her album, Love Somebody.
There’s an intensity to the song that’s driven by pounding percussion and electric guitar, along with cutting, yet reflective, lyrics.
“Ain’t one the loneliest number, it takes two to make it right,” McEntire sings regretfully. “Just three little words I shoulda told ya before you left last night.”
Although there’s a distinct sadness to each line, her vocal intensity gives you the assurance that she’ll get through the pain, no matter how much it hurts.
“When we released Love Somebody, I was reminded of the power of my amazing fans!” McEntire said in a press release, according to The Boot. “The energy and sass of ‘Until They Don’t Love You’ mimics ‘Going Out Like That,’ but takes it up another notch. When we were talking about the next single, I kept going back to this one… it’s just so much fun to perform live.”
This new release comes just days after the surprise split between McEntire and her husband Narvel Blackstock after 26 years of marriage.
“Until They Don’t Love You” will officially hit radio stations later in August. You can hear a live version of the track from Reba’s recent performance at the Outnumber Hunger Concert below.
