A rare phenomenon was filmed over the skies of Colorado during Saturday’s severe weather outbreak.
There’s no pot of gold at the end of this rainbow.
During a tornado outbreak near Eads, Colorado on May 9, storm chaser Kevin Rolfs captured the crazy collision of a tornado and a rainbow on camera. Rolfs posted the video on his Facebook page and described the footage as “a photogenic elephant trunk tornado with rainbow in foreground near Eads.” Many who first saw the video commented that they thought it was fake due to the sight being so unbelievable.
Rolf’s full video shows the 15-minute long progression of the storm as the tornado formed quickly over the rainbow. The result is a mind-blowing look into the power and beauty of mother nature that’s best seen from a safe distance.
