Newcomer Rachele Lynae‘s island-inspired new single will make you want to hitch a ride to the nearest beach.
Lynae is a California-born, Alaska-raised country singer who has a fresh and energetic disposition that flows right into her music. Her latest single, “A Whole Lotta Nothin’,” features a funky, island-inspired sound that makes it the perfect addition to your summer-themed playlists.
She moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University and gained attention from industry execs after recording a five-track EP during her senior year. Soon after, she was introduced to fellow country singer and songwriter Jamie O’Neal, and two began a long-standing collaborative relationship. O’Neal produced and co-wrote all of the tracks on her self-titled debut album that was released last year. The albums produced three singles, “Party ‘Til the Cows Come Home,” “Fishin’ for Something,” and “Touch the Stars,” which gained her exposure from many media outlets and airplay from Sirius XM’s “The Highway.”
Her new single marks a new attempt by Lynae to carve out a spot in mainstream country for herself. Her girl-next-door personality and sugary-sweet lyrics make her incredibly marketable to the young country fan base. Now that Taylor Swift has officially left the nest for pop music pastures, there’s once again a spot for a younger, more lighthearted style of country that easily translates to the pop world. If Lynae stays on track, she might be the next princess of country music.
