Just a day after Kane Brown took to Facebook asking for prayers for his sister, more details are emerging.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, police in Chattanooga are searching for a 16-year-old girl who may be the culprit behind the stabbing.
At this time, police are not releasing the suspect’s name because she is a minor. Reports show that she and 19-year-old Heidi Swafford got into a fight around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26. Police are still searching for the reason behind the fight.
The disturbance took place off Dodds Avenue in the 3300 block of Woodside Street in Chattanooga, Tenn. A warrant has been issued for the girl’s arrest for charges including aggravated assault and attempted second-degree murder.
During the attack, Heidi received two stab wounds, one to her shoulder and one to her neck. She is now recovering in a Chattanooga hospital. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. However, it is possible that Swafford will suffer from permanent nerve damage.
Prayers and well-wishes continue to pour in through Kane Brown’s Facebook page. Currently, over 24,000 comments are on Kane’s original post asking for prayers for his sister. While doctors are still showing concern over nerve damage, Heidi’s mother says she believes her daughter will make a full recovery.
