Rest in peace, Spicy Chicken Biscuit from Chick-Fil-A.
In an effort to promote healthier choices, the popular restaurant announced the first change to the breakfast menu in six years. And people are not happy.
It’s not that the new item is bad. The “Egg White Grill” is a fresh choice and only 300 calories. Grilled chicken, egg whites, American cheese, english muffin — good stuff. Yes, it works for plenty of folks who wanted a healthier breakfast alternative.
But did they have to get rid of the 450-calorie Spicy Chicken Biscuit to make room? Apparently so.
Chick-Fil-A stayed mum on the absence of the SCB, instead promising folks they’d like the Egg White Grill. “We tested the Egg White Grill in select markets across the country, including our busiest restaurants in Manhattan, and our customers gave us great feedback,” Chick-Fil-A Vice President David Farmer said in a press release. “The Egg White Grill is the perfect solution for our health-conscious customers looking for a grab-and-go breakfast.”
Look, there’s nothing wrong with the new choice. It’s cool. But couldn’t they keep both? What, it wouldn’t fit on the menu? Just make the pictures smaller or something. Help us out here, Chick-Fil-A.
Of all the items on the list, the SCB has the biggest cult following. That cult took to Twitter to voice its sadness and anger.
Wait, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is still there? We see a user-created “jumbo” Spicy Chicken Biscuit in the near future.
