If you appreciate the awe-inspiring beauty of nature, there’s a special event in North Carolina that you need to know about.
From mid-October through early November, something very special happens at the base of Whiteside Mountain in Jackson County. For just 30 minutes as the sun sets over the scenic range, a special shadow is cast over the valley. Onlookers can see what looks to be the profile of a bear leaping down the mountains. It’s an amazing sight that draws visitors from all over the country visit the mountain every single year.
Although the phenomenon happens both during spring and fall, the October and November months supply an especially incredible view as the trees’ foliage changes colors.
If you feel like traveling and seeing it for yourself, make sure to make a stop by the scenic Great Smoky Mountains National Park, situated just an hour north of Whiteside Mountain. Both amazing locations supply breathtaking views that will make you feel connected with nature.
