Summer is just getting started, and we all know what that means: big country tours and hot new tunes. Here are new country songs for June that you can expect to hear on your radio any day now.
Joe Nichols, “Undone”
A midtempo ballad aimed right at the ladies’ hearts, “Undone” is the first single off Nichols’ upcoming 9th studio album. And yes, it is a bit suggestive.
Jack Ingram, “I’m Drinking Through It”
His first single off his first album in 9 years, “I’m Drinking Through It” is pretty classic Jack Ingram. Expect it to make its way up the Texas chart (with a little bit of editing, of course).
Cassadee Pope, “Summer”
Still looking for her first taste of solo radio success since putting her band Hey Monday on hiatus and winning The Voice, Cassadee Pope is hoping her recent duet with Chris Young may help her new single “Summer” make its way up the charts.
Chris Young, “Sober Saturday Night” (feat. Vince Gill)
Speaking of Chris Young, the man is on a tear when it comes to releasing duets. After his success with “Think of You (featuring Cassadee Pope),” Young his hoping this ballad with Vince Gill is another hit. Though admittedly, Gill doesn’t have near the presence on this song as Pope had on Young’s last tune.
Darryl Worley, “Rainmaker”
Welcome back, Darryl Worley. It’s been awhile since he’s made a splash after his label folded, but “Rainmaker” is a solid offering from an artist who is no stranger to the charts.
Shane Owens, “Country Never Goes Out of Style”
Shane Owens doesn’t have the same support or name recognition as the heavy hitters, but his traditional style feels right at home on independent country radio stations. “Country Never Goes Out Of Style” truly feels like a traditional country summer tune.
Dierks Bentley, “Different For Girls” (ft. Elle King)
This duet featuring Elle King (of “Exes and Oh’s” fame) has a lot going for it, including hit songwriters Shane McAnally and TJ Harding behind the pens. So far, the response has been great to Bentley’s new album Black, so chances of this tune climbing up the charts are good.
Gary Allan, “Do You Wish It Was Me?”
The alt.-country pioneer hasn’t had a lot of radio presence since “Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)” was everywhere in 2013. “Do You Wish It Was Me?” is classic Allan angst and edge.
Thompson Square, “You Make It Look So Good”
The couple are back after the birth of their new son, and their sound is picking up right where it left off. Country loving couples rejoice.
Mickey Guyton, “Heartbreak Song”
One of the most promising new female voices in country, Mickey Guyton is releasing a new (unreleased) song to radio called “Heartbreak Song” on June 20th. Keep your ears perked up for it!
Old Dominion, “Song For Another Time”
Old Dominion is a collection of songwriters who got together to make music, and their veteran songwriting shows in new single “Song For Another Time.” The chorus is one big ode to some of their favorite tunes. It’s not a new idea, but they do it well.
Cody Johnson, “With You I Am”
He wrote it years ago, but Cody Johnson is just about to release “With You I Am,” the first single off his upcoming record Gotta Be Me. Bet on Johnson to make a splash with it.
