New Budweiser Clydesdale Named After Missouri Sports Star

Budweiser’s newest Clydesdale foal was born last Saturday at Warm Springs Ranch in Booneville, Mo., and was given a “Royal” name.

The farm’s breeders named the foal “Moose” after Kansas City Royals Third Baseman Mike Moustakas, who recently had a franchise-record nine RBIs against the Baltimore Orioles.

Moose now joins the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales. The iconic horses became a Budweiser tradition in April 1933 when August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch gave the horses to their father in celebration of the repeal of the Prohibition.

Moose will live at Warm Spring Ranch and learn the ropes of becoming one of the most iconic horses in American history.
