Watch Kacey Musgraves' Beautiful Live Cover of 'Neon Moon'

Kacey Musgraves recently delighted a Columbus, Ohio crowd with her rendition of the Brooks & Dunn classic "Neon Moon." The Grammy-winning singer offered her own subdued take on the 1991 hit.

The tune starts out with a moody, pulsating synth sound and the occasional lap steel line. Starting at a small stage in the center of the Value City Arena, Musgraves comes in with a smooth, slight twang.

Soon, fans start singing along when they realize the song. After the second chorus, Musgraves makes her way through the audience to the main stage. She then finishes out the song in front of the full crowd.

It's a really cool reimagining of a 90s country staple. Mixing country with a an 80s synth vibe feels like a natural path to take for the song.

Ronnie Dunn wrote the lovelorn "Neon Moon" by himself, eventually putting it on Brooks & Dunn's debut record Brand New Man. It became the duo's third consecutive No. 1 single after "Brand New Man" and "My Next Broken Heart."

Musgraves is currently touring the country with Little Big Town on The Breakers Tour. That run of shows also features Midland, whose debut album sparked plenty of critical acclaim and a little bit of controversy last year. In announcing the tour, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves and Midland all performed "Don't Bring Me Down" by ELO on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Musgraves continues her run with Little Big Town for the next few months. She then shifts gears and heads out on the road with Harry Styles in the summer. She also has a new album called Golden Hour in the works, though a release date isn't yet available.
