Rapper Nelly plans to embrace a more country sound on his newest release.
Missouri-born rapper Nelly is embracing a twangier sound for his newest release. His new Heartland EP will feature a more country-oriented sound than anything he’s ever done before. The announcement was made by the rapper’s new manager J. Erving during a recent interview with Billboard.
This new release won’t be Nelly’s first step into the country music spotlight. In 2004, Nelly collaborated with Tim McGraw for the crossover hit “Over and Over.” Just two years ago, he joined Florida Georgia Line for their incredibly popular remix of “Cruise.”
No official release date for the Heartland EP has been announced.
