Troy Gentry, one half of the duo Montgomery Gentry, has reportedly died in a helicopter accident.

The crash occurred at the Flying W Airport in Medford, N.J. Gentry was on his way to a concert that was scheduled for this evening. Another passenger was killed in the accident, but News 18 in Lexington reports that it was not his bandmate Eddie Montgomery. The concert has been cancelled.

Update: The news of Troy Gentry’s passing was also confirmed by a post on their social media pages.

Montgomery Gentry was formed in 1999, and released six studio albums over the course of their career. The band was reportedly planning to release a new album sometime this year.

Troy Gentry leaves behind his wife Angie and two daughters. Wide Open Country will share additional information as it becomes available.
