The country music community is still mourning the loss of Montgomery Gentry member Troy Gentry. Now, his music and incredible life take the spotlight in the new lyric video for the duo’s single, “Better Me.”
Gentry passed away in a tragic helicopter accident on Sept. 8. The band was gearing up to release a brand new album next year. To honor Gentry’s memory, their label opted to share “Better Me,” a moving song that features Gentry on lead vocals.
After an outpouring of support for the song, a lyric video has been posted online for fans to enjoy. The clip, which you can see above, shows images of the duo together, along with Gentry spending time with friends, family and fans.
It’s unclear what the future holds for the Montgomery Gentry namesake. Eddie Montgomery just recently performed for the first time since Gentry’s death, but currently has no other touring plans. It’s likely that the new record, or at least a sampling of its tracks will be released sometime next year. Until then, “Better Me” is the perfect gift for fans and a great way to honor Troy Gentry’s immeasurable talents.
