Miranda Lambert just released the lyric video for her new single, “Smokin’ and Drinkin'”.
The track is the fourth single off her successful 2014 album, Platinum. The members of Little Big Town join in, providing backing vocals throughout, which end up sounding like a bunch of old friends reminiscing about their wilder days. The single, which was co-written by Natalie Hemby, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, is a nostalgia-driven tribute to simpler times when getting a little crazy didn’t seem so unorthodox.
“This song was written by three amazing songwriters and I connected with it the first time I heard it,” Lambert told Entertainment Weekly. “It reminds me of hanging out with friends, partying when life still felt innocent, simple and fun. This is definitely my version of a party song, puts me in that kind of mood.”
Visually, the lyric video stays true to the nostalgic focus of the song, with photographs and drinks showcased in a blurry haze.
Lambert will be out on the road through October with her all-female Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour with support from RaeLynn, Ashley Monroe and Clare Dunn. A full list of tour dates is available at her official website.
