Miranda Lambert Delivers Moving Cover of U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'

Miranda Lambert recently caught a U2 show in Kentucky, and the performance had quite the impact on the country star. Over the weekend, she chose to finish her Faster Horses festival set with a stirring rendition of one of the band's biggest hits.

Lambert stripped down U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" to wrap up her headlining performance. And the Michigan festival crowd absolutely loved it.

As you can see by some fan footage from the front row, the audience joined Lambert in singing immediately. After the first verse, Lambert steps aside and lets her band sing some, too. That includes Gwen Sebastian, who joins Lambert on backup vocals but has a promising solo career in the works.

Watch the video below for the video (and also hear a man aggressively confess his love for Miranda Lambert several times).

Lambert recently caught U2's stadium show in Louisville and tweeted out her admiration for the band. As one of the premiere rock bands of the 1980s and 1990s, U2 still sells out football stadiums.

They also leave a pretty noticeable impact on their genre as they move along. From guitarist The Edge's swooping delays and tones to vocalist Bono's redefining what it means to be a frontman. That influence isn't lost on Lambert. Her picture from the general admission section of the show reads, "This changed my life. And my way of thinking. About music and art. About drive and heart. Thank you U2. I'll never be the same." Powerful stuff.

Lambert is a bit of an inspiration herself. She recently released one of country music's most ambitious albums, The Weight Of These Wings. She since went on to bring the ACM Awards crowd to their feet with her performance of "Tin Man." And she tours into October of this year, with two unforgettable shows in New Braunfels, Texas coming up next.

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" Lyrics:

I have climbed the highest mountains
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in the fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire
I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was one empty night
I was cold as a stone
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

I believe when the Kingdom comes
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
But yes I'm still running.
You broke the bonds
You loosened the chains
You carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for

But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
But I still haven't found
What I'm looking for
