Miranda Lambert entertained a group of lucky fans with an impromptu performance with her band at a Chicago bar.
Lambert was in town on June 6 to prepare for a performance with Kenny Chesney‘s Big Revival tour the next day. Once she got into town, she took to her Instagram account to announce that her crew would be performing at a local bar.
“We just got to Joe’s bar in Chicago! My band/crew have a band of their own,” Lambert wrote. “Come see Permnent Damage at Joe’s at 8pm! #coversongs #roadfamily #beer #roadies.”
It didn’t take long for word to spread, and over 700 fans packed inside of Joe’s Bar to see Lambert’s band play a three-hour set that was full of fun cover songs. Lambert herself took the stage to perform a cover of No Doubt’s “Spiderwebs” and the B-52s’ hit “Love Shack.” You can tell that Lambert is having a great time during the karaoke session, as she dances and interacts with the crowd throughout the performance. Although it was a much different setting than the massive stadium show she played with Chesney the next night, she brought just as much star power to the tiny stage at Joe’s Bar as she did to Chicago’s Soldier Field.
Miranda Lambert is up for three awards at this year’s CMT Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on June 10.
