Miranda Lambert will be closing the original location of her Pink Pistol boutique in Tishomingo, OK as she focuses on expanding the franchise in Texas. The country star, who originally opened the store back in 2012 while married to Blake Shelton, has surprised many by selling the property to her ex-husband.
In a press release, Lambert said that although she is incredibly appreciative of the patrons and employees who helped make the store a success, “sometimes you need to close a chapter to build on a new beginning or go back home.”
The town of Tishomingo credits Lambert’s Pink Pistol boutique for highlighting essential life in a small town. Since the boutique opened, the 3,000 person town has welcomed 21 other businesses along its main street and revived the once struggling, rural community.
While the Oklahoma boutique will close, the location in Lambert’s hometown of Lindale, TX is set for expansion. The new boutique will be located at the Cannery in Lindale, and will open this August.
“It feels full circle to have everything under one ‘roof’ basically where it all began in my hometown of Lindale,” the country singer says.
The location where Pink Pistol began already has a new owner. Ironically, Lambert sold the property recently to ex-husband Blake Shelton, who is keeping his lips sealed on his plans for the location.
“As a resident of Tishomingo I’m very sorry that the Pink Pistol has decided to move its operations out of the area,” Shelton told Entertainment Tonight. “We all, as a community, appreciate everything it has done for our town. As for the actual properties left behind… I was offered the opportunity to buy them, and I have a plan brewing.”
