Thanks to Russian born nature photographer, Daniel Kordan, we have a rare look at the night sky in an unexpectedly gorgeous setting. Kordan recently traveled to Altiplano, Bolivia, which is famed for its dark night skies. The area hosts Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat, and it’s there that Kordan captured some of the most stunning Milky Way photos ever.
The Uyuni salt flat is 11,995 ft. above sea level, making it the perfect place to capture the Milky Way reflected in the mirror-like ground below.
Kordan’s photos are exceptional. First, check out the what the Uyuni salt flat looks like just as the sun is setting. Still exceptionally picturesque, but just wait.
Now, check out the magical scene he captured when the sun goes behind the horizon. The sky lights up and reflects in the salt flat below.
What an incredible sight!
