This Texas Oil Tycoon's Huge Ranch is One of the World's Most Expensive Properties

Texas businessman T. Boone Pickens is selling his enormous Mesa Vista Ranch, and its staggering $250 million price tag makes it one of the world's most expensive properties in the world, according to the Robb Report.

The luxury website named Mesa Vista Ranch as the fourth most expensive U.S. real estate listing for 2017 in its annual report.

Although $250 million might seem kind of steep, Mesa Vista Ranch comes with a long list of incredible perks and amenities. Mr. Pickens spent 50 years cultivating the land, the water and the livestock as well as the homesites.

The property includes over 100 square miles of land northeast of Amarillo and it has pretty much everything you could ever want.

There is a pool, a golf course, a two-story library, a dog kennel, a church, and more beautiful running water than you would imagine you'd find in the Texas panhandle. The ranch is bordered by the Canadian River, and Mr. Pickens constructed several more waterways and lakes on the property over the years.

The ranch also has an airplane hangar and landing strip and, according to Mr. Pickens, offers "the world's best quail hunting."

The Lodge Compound is an area of the ranch that houses multi-use facilities for hosting big events on the property.

Except for a herd of cattle and some pieces of artwork, the ranch is turnkey — meaning whoever buys it gets the furniture, pickup trucks, hunting vehicles, farming equipment, furnishings, and even the bird dogs. The ranch even comes with water and mineral rights.

The property is jointly listed by Sam Middleton of Chas S. Middleton and Son, and Monte Lyons of Hall and Hall.
