The Mavericks to Perform at the 2016 Grammy Awards

The Mavericks, one of country music’s most eclectic and influential bands, will be sharing an exciting moment with its fans in the very near future. The Mavericks will be performing at a 2016 Grammy Awards event, the Premiere Ceremony, that will take place prior to the televised portion of the awards show.

The group, which was formed in 1989 and released eight full-length studio albums, is nominated for two awards at the 2016 Grammys, Best American Roots Song and Best Americana Album, and will learn its fate during the Premiere Ceremony. Scheduled to present the awards during the pre-show event

Scheduled to present the awards during the pre-show event are: Anoushka Shankar, Jidenna, Jimmy Jam, Keali’i Reichel, Lianne La Havas, and Maria Schneider. Comedian Jay Mohr will host the ceremony. This will not be The Mavericks’ first experience as Grammy nominees, as the legendary group received the 1995 “Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal” honor.

The 2016 Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will take place on Feb. 15, 2016 from 3:30-6:30PM ET at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Cali. Fans will be able to stream the event on the Grammy Awards’ website and CBS.com. The televised awards show is scheduled to air on the same date on CBS at 8PM ET.
