Martina McBride is taking a stand against cancer with the Band Against Cancer initiative for her new tour.
McBride is partnering with Sarah Cannon for her latest good deed, which will see the “Wrong Again” singer join the Sarah Cannon Tour concert series, which is scheduled to make stops in several cities around the U.S. in the coming months.
The tour, which is expected to wrap this coming October with a special show at the Grand Ole Opry, is also expected to feature several other country stars and is designed to help those affected by cancer by bringing awareness to treatment options and other resources.
“Helping families who are facing cancer has always been a cause that is near and dear to my heart,” McBride recently said in a statement. “I’m honored to be the voice that connects these individuals and their families with a fully committed team of cancer experts.”
“Together with Sarah Cannon, this means each person can fight cancer where they get their greatest strength, in their own communities, with their own band of support,” McBride added.
The star most recently drew attention to cancer care through her 2011 hit “I’m Going To Love You Through It,” which tells the emotional story of a woman diagnosed with breast cancer.
More details about the Band Against Cancer campaign, as well as further details regarding the Sarah Cannon Tour are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
