A Pennsylvania man got a lot more than he bargained for when he attended a country music festival, starring Brantley Gilbert, Justin Moore, and Colt Ford, in New Jersey over the weekend, according to the Courier-Post. Reports show that the twenty-six year-old man was the victim of a stabbing during a fight outside the BB&T Pavilion while the country music concert was taking place.
Reports stated that twenty-five year-old George Kelly of Ridley Park stabbed the victim in the throat at the event hosted by Philadelphia’s radio station WXTU-FM. The violent episode is not the first to occur at the same festival, as the Courier-Post points out that the show resulted in almost 200 arrests in June 2012 after several fights broke out in the parking lots. In 2013, approximately forty-five arrests were on record at the same event when a storm blew through during the show.
The assailant from the Saturday night stabbing was arrested by Camden County Sheriff’s Department and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as well as other related offenses. Following the incident, Kelly was being held at the Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was reported to be in stable condition at the nearby Cooper University Hospital in Camden.
