Maddie & Tae reach for the sky in their visually stunning video for their latest single, “Fly.”
The song’s main theme is to always follow your dreams. This powerful message feels autobiographical, when you look at the path leading up to it.
Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye topped the charts with “Girl in a Country Song,” making them the third female duo in 70 years to have a single debut at number one. Additionally, they were the first all-female act to top country radio charts in two years.
The duo has had its fair share of obstacles on the road to Music Row. At the young age of 17, they both filed for and were granted emancipation from their parents so they could pursue a music career in Nashville.
“We were both so scared when we came to Nashville to chase this dream,” said Marlow in a press release. “How many days did I look out the window and want to run home because the world was so big and things were going wrong? But I also knew if I ran away, my dream would never happen. It was being brave when I didn’t even know why or how that somehow brought us to here, which is exactly why we wrote the song.”
The duo is expected to release a full-length album sometime this year.
