The Salvation Army has recruited Luke Bryan to help kick off their annual fundraising efforts with a special halftime performance this Thanksgiving.
The country star was selected to represent the 125th Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, which kicks off Thanksgiving day. The annual campaign raises money to provide food, shelter and clothing for underprivileged children during the holiday season. Bryan will speak about the campaign before performing a short halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game.
“Our hope, in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys and Luke Bryan, is to continue to spread the word that The Salvation Army is here for those trying to overcome obstacles in their lives during the holidays and year-round,” said Lt. Col. Ron Busroe, national community relations and development secretary for The Salvation Army.
Bryan says he’s excited to be a part of the charity’s highly-celebrated national campaign. “As a football fan, I’m especially excited to be performing on Thanksgiving Day,” Bryan said in a statement. “It’s also an honor to spotlight two great organizations like Dallas Cowboys and The Salvation Army and raise awareness for all the great work they do.”
You can see Bryan perform at halftime during when the Cowboys battle the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 26 at 3:30 PM CDT.
