Luke Bryan made a young fan’s dream come true.
Bryan finally met 8-year-old Joseph — a young boy who has spent most of his young life in the hospital — before a concert at Iowa’s UNI-Dome on Feb. 20.
According to Globe Gazette, Joseph couldn’t hide his excitement when he finally met his hero, as Joseph’s mom revealed to the site that her young son ran up to Bryan shouting “I made it Luke! I made it.”
Joseph has cerebral palsy and has also spent the past year on dialysis after having a kidney transplant in 2015. The site reports that Joseph also suffers from hydrocephalus, a build-up of fluid in the brain.
“Everybody in the lobby knew this little boy and people wanted to take pictures with him,” Joseph’s mom said of Joseph’s and Bryan’s meeting, adding that “Crash My Party” singer autographed her son’s Wrangler shirt before the show.
“It was so beautiful and it’s overwhelming,” Joseph’s mom continued to Globe Gazette. “All the small medical details, all the pain this child has endured and will endure, I finally got to see joy and that means the world to me.”
Joseph first caught Bryan’s attention through a YouTube video titled “Mojo’s Wish,” which was shared on social media by hundreds of people from around the world who wanted to help make little Joseph’s wish come true.
