In a message shared to social media, Crystal Gayle revealed that her sister Loretta Lynn is currently recovering from a broken hip.
Gayle shared the news with fans through a tweet published earlier today, Jan. 8.
"My birthday wish is for everyone to send love and prayers to my sister, Loretta Lynn, who fell and broke her hip last week," she wrote.
Gayle did not elaborate on the details Lynn's condition, but did say that her sister is keeping a smile on her face.
"I was with Loretta yesterday. She is in good spirits and is doing as well as she can be expected with this type of injury."
Gayle went on to thank fans for their love, prayers and continued support.

Last year, Loretta Lynn was hospitalized in Nashville after suffering a stroke at her Hurricane Mills, Tenn. home. The health issues caused the country legend to delay the release of her record Wouldn't It Be Great to sometime later this year. It's unclear if this new injury will again delay the project.
