Little Big Town crossed over into the world of 1990s British pop during their appearance on ABC’s Greatest Hits.
The popular country group has never been shy about their love for other genres, and it shows in their music. Their edgy sound made them the perfect choice as performers on the summer television series, which looks back at hits from the last 50 years.
You’ve probably hear Oasis’ massive 1995 hit “Wonderwall,” even if you aren’t a pop or rock fan. It’s one of those songs that you never forget, even if the lyrics don’t make total sense. It’s been covered by a number of artists, but no major country act has put their own spin on it. Until now, that is.
The quartet’s laid-back rendition of the Britpop track was a clear crowd favorite.
As a Millennial, even I find it a little weird that songs from the mid-90s are already being memorialized as “classics.” But hey, at least we got this fun performance out of it.
