Brad Paisley is giving fans another sneak peek into his upcoming album with the release of “Today.” The brand new track is the second single off his still-untitled 11th studio album. The first single, “Without a Fight,” was released back in May and features pop diva Demi Lovato.
“Today” is an emotional tribute about focusing on what is right in front of you. Too often these days, we worrying about tomorrow and what’s coming and forget to appreciate the now. This song, co-written with songwriters Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley, is a strong reminder that Paisley hopes will resonate with his fans.
“Today I’m releasing a song that means a lot to me,” Paisley wrote in a post on Facebook. “I hope it becomes a soundtrack for you, that you put it to video & use it in your lives.”
“And I don’t know about tomorrow, right now the whole world feels right/And the memory of a day like today can get you through the rest of your life,” Paisley sings in the chorus.
The track’s new video is just as emotional as the song itself. The clip shows a montage of real people in real life situations. Viewers see a military family’s reunion, proposals, birth announcements and other special moments.
In a time where country music is continuously pushing the boundaries of what is and what isn’t, “Today” brings you back to the good, wholesome truth.
Brad Paisley is currently wrapping up his 2016 Country Nation College Tour. He’ll visit the University of Nebraska on Oct. 13. You can find a full list of upcoming tour dates at his official website.
