Lee Ann Womack Gets Spiritual With the Fairfield Four [WATCH]

Lee Ann Womack and the Fairfield Four pair up for a stunning performance of “Children Go Where I Send Thee.”

Lee Ann Womack has been widely known as a talented and well-accomplished vocalist in country music for years. In this a cappella performance with the Fairfield Four, Womack’s vocal skills and pure tone take center stage. Her voice stands out alongside the four other strong and perfectly harmonized voices, which is no easy feat for any vocalist.

These four talented performers singing alongside Womack, who may not be immediately familiar to many country fans, are no strangers to the music industry. The Fairfield Four are a highly acclaimed and uniquely styled gospel group from Nashville that has been active since 1921. On their latest album, Still Rockin’ My Soul, Womack recorded a studio version of this traditional African-American spiritual, “Children Go Where I Send Thee,” with the group.

This performance, held at the historic Downtown Presbyterian Church in Nashville, was recorded for the PBS special Rock My Soul: A Gospel Celebration. To find out when the special is airing in your area, check your local listings or pbs.org for specific times and dates.
