Autumn is here, and not only does that mean hunting, football and cooler weather, it also means imbibing at holiday parties.
And what better way to imbibe than straight out of a pumpkin?
Watch the video below to learn how to carve a keg out of a pumpkin.
Start out how you would carve any pumpkin by cutting off the top and scooping out the innards. You can leave some pulp in to flavor the beer if you want.
Then cut out the hole for the keg spigot. Make sure you cut the hole just as big as the spigot by tracing the hole beforehand. You can thin the pumpkin wall to make it easier to carve by scooping out some of the inside where the spigot will go.
Fit the spigot in and make sure it fits snugly. You don’t want beer gushing out over your hands.
Finally, fill the pumpkin with your choice of beer. Melissa Klein from Celebrations likes Sam Adams Oktoberfest because nothing screams fall to her more.
I think this pumpkin keg really screams fall to me.
