Lady Antebellum Surprises Fans with New Single, Album and Tour

Lady Antebellum just surprised their fans with a major announcement — or three. The superstar trio released their new song "You Look Good" Thursday (Jan. 19) morning and announced a new album, Heart Break, due out in June.

And THEN they shared details of a massive summer tour. The You Look Good World Tour hits at least 43 cities in North America so far. The whole party kicks off in late May.

The funky 70s-esque jam "You Look Good" certainly kicks off a sassy comeback. The band brings in a horn section (if you didn't know, horn sections are in) and delivers what amounts to a fun pseudo-pop love song. The production is notably edgier than earlier Lady A releases.

The equally cheeky lyric video features the band hanging out at a Hollywood hills home last year. Then, at the end of the video, a brief clip from the group's beginnings in 2007 plays.

Talk about a turnaround from last year's vibe. In 2016, Lady Antebellum hinted at an indefinite hiatus. Which is understandable, seeing as the threesome all had families and solo projects.

Charles Kelley released The Driver, a well-received, if not short, solo effort featuring heartfelt tunes like "Leaving Nashville." Meanwhile, Hillary Scott released a gospel album with her family and Haywood spent time with his newly-expanded family.

Now, with a new single, the trio clearly want to get back on the road together. And as they have in the past, Lady A is bringing along openers with pretty serious star potential. Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young join the band for their summer tour.

As for the album Heart Break, the band says the title comes from a song on the album that plays on the word "heartbreak." In a press release, Hillary Scott shares a little more.

"It's all about those personal growths everyone goes through, and it was liberating to get back in the studio with Charles and Dave to intertwine those feelings into the recording process," Scott says. "I feel like we've reemerged stronger than ever, and I can't wait to share more music!"

Busbee produced the album and co-wrote the first single along with Hillary Lindsey and Ryan Hurd. He's certainly been a big part of Lady Antebellum's previous success as a writer on tunes like "Our Kind Of Love" and "When You Were Mine." He also shared production credits on previous albums, including 2014's 747.
