Country Music Hall of Fame member Kris Kristofferson will be honored by some of country music’s biggest artists with a massive tribute concert in Nashville.
The Life and Songs of Kris Kristofferson will be held at Bridgestone Arena on March 16. Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley, Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, Eric Church and Lady Antebellum, Ryan Bingham, Jamey Johnson, Darius Rucker and Trisha Yearwood will perform covers of Kristofferson’s biggest career hits during the event.
The 79-year-old singer-songwriter will also perform a selection of songs from his expansive songbook. The concert, produced by Blackbird Presents, will also be recorded to be televised at a later date.
“A major reason for Kris’ enduring popularity is that he’s always been very honest and open about revealing his inner life,” Acclaimed producer Don Was, who has worked with Kristofferson for over 20 years, told Rolling Stone Country. “In doing that he has created an incredible body of work that has resonated for decades with millions of listeners. It’s always a deeply moving experience to sing and play his songs.”
Tickets for The Life and Songs of Kris Kristofferson will go on sale at 10 a.m. CT Saturday, January 23rd. A special presale will be available to Citi cardmembers beginning Friday, Jan. 22nd at 10am CT.
