Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman are preparing for a big marriage milestone. The celebrity couple will celebrate 10 years of marriage this coming June. In a new interview with ET, Urban voiced his excitement about their upcoming anniversary.
“Ten years is fantastic!” Urban told the entertainment program. “It’s like 30 in this day and age.”
In a time when most celebrity marriages can be counted in hours or days, Urban says he and Kidman’s relationship is stronger than ever. The two were married on June 25, 2006 in a private ceremony in Sydney, Australia. They are now parents to two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
Although Urban is excited for the upcoming occasion, he still hasn’t cemented plans for the special day. “I’m working on that,” the 48-year-old singer said. “Give me a minute, we’ve got ‘til June.”
When asked what he and Kidman have done to make their marriage last, Urban says it’s all about spending quality time with each other.
“Dating. Keep dating your wife — that’s it,” Urban explains, saying that he still sets aside time to show Kidman just how special she is to him. Even after ten years of marriage, Urban says he never takes his relationship for granted. “I’m still trying to get her to go out with me.”
