Keith Urban is planning three special concerts in three different U.S. cities to help promote his latest album, Ripcord. The album is set to release on Friday, May 6. The Ripcord world tour will then kick off on June 2. Urban wants to celebrate the release with all of his fans in a series of three one-of-a-kind album launch events.
His first special show stop is in New York City on May 4. He’ll be playing all of the new music from Ripcord at STAGE 48. Yes, this is in fact two days before the release of the album, so if you’re at this event (or tuning in), then you’ll be lucky enough to hear all of his new music first. Of course, Urban will also be playing some of his biggest hits as well. Title X will be live streaming the whole performance so that you can watch it live, no matter where you are, starting at 8:00PM EST.
Next stop: Nashville. Would it really be a release party for his new album if he wasn’t doing a free show in Nashville? Yes, we said free. Urban will be performing in front of the Bridgestone Arena — outdoors in the Plaza — on May 9. The show begins at noon.
Urban and the city of Nashville have teamed up to make this free show even more amazing. Fans will be able to hear the songs off of his new album and there will be a ton of food trucks and vendors on site to feed all the concert-goers.
The last in the line of special stops, is Los Angeles. Here, Urban will be performing at the GRAMMY Museum’s Clive Davis Theater on May 10. The event is being called Inside the Songs of Ripcord, because Urban will be sharing the stories behind the songs as well as performing them. Scott Goldman, VP of the GRAMMY Foundation, will be moderating the special event. Doors open at 8:00PM EST.
