Keith Urban's New Song 'Female' is All About Female Empowerment

After a year that's been filled with discussion of how women are treated and portrayed in country music, Keith Urban has dropped a song that's all about championing the opposite sex.

"Female" openly addresses some of the challenges, biases and closed-minded thinking that women face on a daily basis. From sexual harassment to stereotypes, Urban respectfully tackles each subject by simply asking the listener to reconsider their thinking.

"When somebody laughs and implies that she asked for it just 'cause she was wearing a skirt, oh, is that how that works?"

Urban has been teasing the new song with cryptic posts on his social media pages. The song was co-written by Nicolle Galyon and Ross Copperman after news of the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke. Urban's wife and famous actress Nicole Kidman is also credited on industry websites as one of the song's background singers. That has been yet to be confirmed by Urban's team.
