Keith Urban has announced that his eighth studio album, Ripcord, will be available on May 6.
Fans are anxiously awaiting this new project, which will include the Australia native’s chart-topping singles “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16″ and “Break on Me.”
“Ripcord is almost done — and it’s been an exhilarating journey,” Urban said in a statement. “Getting to work with so many new musicians and writers and co-producers has been a divine experience for me — and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
The superstar recently earned his 20th number on song (almost 15 years to the date from when he earned his first no. 1) with ballad “Break On Me.”
“Music for me has always been about expression and connection,” said Urban. “So to have all of these songs connect in the way they have hits me on so many different levels. I’m constantly inspired by the passionate support I get from all of the fans, my friends at country radio and of course Capitol Records.”
The four-time Grammy Award winner, who is set to perform at the upcoming ACM Awards, will kick off his RipCORD World Tour on June 2nd. Urban will be joined this summer by Brett Eldredge and country newcomer Maren Morris. The three recently gave fans a tease of what’s in store for the tour with an impressive rendition of Adele’s “Rollin’ in the Deep.”
