Kacey Musgraves has performed for a string of late night TV shows like SNL, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on NBC and The Late Late Show with James Corden to perform and promote her new album Golden Hour. Recently, she stepped on to Late Night with Seth Meyers stage to sing "Rainbow," the closing track from Golden Hour.

It's rare to see country music put front and center with several major TV show slots, but Musgraves' soothing voice and cosmic songwriting can draw in an array of music fans. In this performance, Musgraves stands in front of a white piano while donning a gorgeous Grecian style dress with rainbow details. She sings to her audience like she's giving an encouraging, gentle pep talk while wearing an empathetic smile.

In "Rainbow," written by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Natalie Hemby, Musgraves delicately sings lyrics about overcoming dark times that fit in well with LGBTQ Pride month. "There are some things that are uncomfortable for other people to talk about, and I just think it goes within the spirit of country music to keep those alive in song," Rolling Stone Country quotes Musgraves. "All I can do as a songwriter is look at things through my lens and write about them, and if that happens to make people happy, cool. If not, then you don't have to listen."

'Rainbow' Lyrics:

When it rains, it pours
But you didn't even notice
It ain't rainin' anymore
It's hard to breathe when all you know is
The struggle of stayin' above the risin' water line

Well the sky has finally opened
The rain and wind stopped blowin'
But you're stuck out in the same ol' storm again
You hold tight to your umbrella
Well, darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head

If you could see what I see
You'd be blinded by the colors
Yellow, red, and orange, and green
And at least a million others
So tie up the boat, take off your coat, and take a look around

'Cause the sky has finally opened
The rain and wind stopped blowin'
But you're stuck out in the same ol' storm again
You hold tight to your umbrella
Well, darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head

Oh, tie up the boat, take off your coat, and take a look around
Everything is alright now

'Cause the sky has finally opened
The rain and wind stopped blowin'
But you're stuck out in the same ol' storm again
Let go of your umbrella
'Cause, darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head
Yeah, there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head

It'll all be alright
