Hear Kacey Musgraves' ‘Moonshine’ Song in Ben Affleck’s New Movie

Its a new year, and as luck would have it, there's a new song from Kacey Musgraves.

Following what was one of the biggest years in country music in 2016, Musgraves has another new song. The singer contributed to the soundtrack for Ben Affleck's upcoming film Live By Night with the song "Moonshine."

A duet with Irish folk singer Foy Vance, the song is haunting Souther Gothic ode to the Smoky Mountain drink of choice. Vance leads most of the song, but Musgraves adds her signature timbre through some truly chilling harmonies.

In a behind-the-scenes video shot during the recording process of the song, the Dime Store Cowgirl felt a "Southern vibe."

She added that she's "in love with the cinematic experience," so singing on a movie was exciting. You can download "Moonshine" and the rest of the Live By Night soundtrack now on iTunes.

Live By Night stars Ben Affleck as a bootlegger in the 1920s and 30s. Affleck also wrote and directed the film, his first time doing both since his 2010 film, The Town.

The film also stars Elle Fanning, Miguel, and Brendan Gleeson and is based on the Denis Lehane novel of the same name.
