Kacey Musgraves’ holiday season has already been plenty merry and bright with the release of her acclaimed Christmas album A Very Kacey Christmas. But on Christmas Eve, Musgraves received what is surely the sweetest gift of her year: an engagement ring from her boyfriend, singer-songwriter Ruston Kelly.
Musgraves shared the details on her Instagram, along with a snapshot of her gorgeous ring.
Musgraves also shared a video of her engagement ring in all its sparkly glory, along with a caption sharing the sweet story of how Kelly popped the question in her childhood home. Musgraves wrote that Kelly collaborated with her sister and brother-in-law to deck out her childhood bedroom in “the most nostalgic and perfect” Christmas decorations. Kelly then proposed to Musgraves in the room while one of Musgraves’ favorite songs, Henry Mancini’s “Two For the Road,” played.
“Of all the places in the world I’ve gotten to see, nowhere could mean more than this happening in tiny Golden, Texas in the house that completely made me who I am,” Musgraves wrote.
Musgraves also posted a photo snapped by her sister of the happy couple post engagement.
Ruston Kelly is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, whose songs have been cut by Tim McGraw, Josh Abbott Band and Kenny Chesney. His debut EP Halloween was released earlier this year.
Kacey Musgraves will be performing a must-see show with John Prine and Jason Isbell at the Grand Ole Opry House on New Year’s Eve.
