Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly Tease New Song Adapted From a Johnny Cash Poem

Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly are giving fans a taste of their haunting new duet that was actually penned by Johnny Cash.

During a performance at Tennessee's Blackberry Farm on July 9, the couple performed their new song "To June, This Morning." The tune's lyrics were taken from Cash's poem by the same name that was written for his wife.

"To June, This Morning" was recorded for the upcoming collaborative album Forever Words, which transforms some of Cash's most celebrated poems into new musical works of art. So far, a release date for the project has not been announced.

The occasion also marks one of the first times that Musgraves and Kelly have took the stage together since announcing their engagement. Kelly popped the question over the Christmas holiday last year.

Musgraves is currently working on her followup record to 2015's highly-praised LP Pageant Material. Kelly just released a new single, entitled "Black Magic," earlier this week.
